The TN Department of Education is in the process of revising the Disability Eligibility Standards for Special Education. They have asked STEP to invite the Disability Coalition on Education and the TDC Special Education Workgroup to participate in this effort.
STEP will be hosting a 30-minute webinar on Monday, May 23, 2016, at 1 pm central | 2 pm eastern where Theresa Nicholls, the Tennessee Department of Education’s Director of Special Education Eligibility, will share where the Department is in the revision process and the timelines moving forward.
If there is an interest, STEP is offering to facilitate a work session on Friday, May 27, 2016, after the MegaConference in Nashville. Meeting details will be determined, based on interest and logistics.
The Department is requesting that input on the revisions be submitted to them by June 10, 2016, to Theresa.nicholls@tn.gov or Joanna.bivins@tn.gov.
